Dr Kjersti Endresen
Our body is a truly amazing “machine” with its ability to self- regulate and heal. Every day I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work with helping people to better health.
My first exposure with chiropractic was as a teenager when I had problems with my lower back and neck, not being able to sit for more than 15 min at the time. I started seeing a chiropractor with great results.
I have always wanted to work with helping people and several coincidences resulted in me moving from Norway to Sydney to study chiropractic in 2000. When starting the course I was gladly surprised when I realised how in debt the study was. The people that know me knows that I don’t like things half done, so coming to the body I want to know exactly how it functions. This requires a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology etc. I especially enjoyed neurology, the control centre of our body and how we as chiropractors can influence its function.
I graduated from Macquarie University in 2005, and moved to Perth were I worked for 5 years. Working in a multi-practitioner clinic gave me valuable clinical experience. We decided to move to Carnarvon to take over Gascoyne Chiropractic in 2011. I enjoy working in this small coastal community. It also gives me more valuable time to spend with my kids.
One of the reasons for me being a passionate chiropractor comes with the Chiropractic philosophy. I have always believed that we need to look at the body as a whole, not just the symptoms that appear, and always strive to find the cause of the problem. The chiropractic philosophy explains that there are three aspects to ultimate health: Physical, emotional chemical, they are all interlinked and can’t be separated. If we work on all the aspects of the triad of health we’ll be able to get lasting results.
Since graduating I’ve done postgraduate training in Paediatrics, Applied kinesiology, Neuro emotional technique and more. I think it is important to keep developing professionally, updating on new research and new developing techniques to be able to clients more holistically.
I have a passion working with children as I believe every child should have the best possibility to a good start to life.
I like spending time outside in nature with my small family, daughter Aria, son Markus, partner George and dogs Kenai and Benji.
At Gascoyne Chiropractic we are lucky to have a small, but caring and passionate team, that strive to give the best possible service to the small communities of Carnarvon and Denham. I hope to see you soon!
